 BUICK SALES, MARKET SHARE CONTINUE UPWARD
 FLINT, Mich., Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Buick, which led all automakers


in increased market share in 1991, is off to a fast start in 1992 with sales for January up 7.4 percent and sales for the last 10 days up 12.7 percent, compared with the previous year.
 Buick sales totaled 41,314 in January compared with 38,470 the previous January and 20,861 for the 10 days ending Jan. 31, compared with 18,517, Robert E. Coletta, general sales and service manager announced.
 Buick's estimated market share was 7.4 percent for the month (up 0.5 percent).
 For the first four months of the '92 model year, Buick sales of 169,690 were 1.7 percent ahead of the 166,798 for the comparable previous period. By comparison, estimated industry sales were down 7.4 percent for the model year and up 0.6 percent for January.
 Buick's sales surge was led by LeSabre, up 90 percent for the month (13,944 versus 7,343) and 135 percent for the last 10 days (7,016 versus 2,988); Century up 28 percent for the month and 26 percent for the 10 days and the redesigned Roadmaster Estate Wagon, up 582 percent and 291 percent based on small numbers.
