BUICK LESABRE SALES BEST IN MORE THAN A YEAR
BUICK LESABRE SALES BEST IN MORE THAN A YEAR FLINT, Mich., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Sales of Buick's LeSabre were
up 45.7 percent in the first 10 days of November and were higher in the last 30 days than in any 30-day period in more than a year, Buick General Sales and Service Manager Robert E. Coletta said today.
The full-size LeSabre sedans are redesigned for the 1992 model year. Coletta said LeSabre's sales have been boosted by customer enthusiasm for the new styling and improved powertrain and also by 2.9-percent financing from GMAC. The special financing rate for up to 48 months was announced Oct. 26. LeSabre's daily sales rate has risen steadily for the last four months and was up to 448 units per day for the period ending Nov. 10. That was 23 percent higher than in the first 10 days in October and 63 percent higher than for the first 10 days of September. LeSabre sales in the first 10 days of November totaled 3,580 compared with 2,764 in the comparable period last year. For the calendar year through Nov. 10, Buick sales were up 0.1 percent while total industry sales were down 13.1 percent. Buick's market share for the calendar year is up nine-tenths of a point to 6.6 percent -- the biggest increase for any automaker, domestic or import. -0- 11/14/91 /CONTACT: Lawrence R.
