 BUCKEYE PARTNERS L.P. ANNOUNCES EARNINGS
EMMAUS, Pa., Jan. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Buckeye Management Company,

general partner of Buckeye Partners L.P. (NYSE: BPL), today reported that the Partnership's 1991 income from continuing operations was $30.5 million, or $2.51 per unit, compared with 1990 income from continuing operations of $34.3 million, or $2.83 per unit.
Revenue and operating income for 1991 were $151.8 million and $58.5 million, respectively, compared with $159.3 million and $63.9 million, respectively, for 1990. Volumes transported during 1991 averaged 873,200 barrels per day compared with 905,200 barrels per day in 1990. Volumes and revenue for 1991 were adversely affected by poor economic conditions that resulted in reduced distillate and turbine fuel deliveries. Lower distillate volumes were also due to warm weather throughout the company's service area during 1991. Turbine fuel deliveries were lower in response to reduced airline traffic throughout the year.
The Partnership's income from continuing operations for the 1991 fourth quarter was $9.7 million, or $.80 per unit, equal to 1990 fourth quarter income from continuing operations of $9.7 million. Revenue and operating income in the 1991 fourth quarter were $39.3 million and $16.6 million, respectively, compared with $40.3 million and $16.8 million, respectively, for 1990.
Buckeye Partners, L.P., through its subsidiary entities, is one of the nation's largest independent pipeline common carriers of refined petroleum products with nearly 4,000 miles of pipeline operating in 11 states.
