BTEA elects co-chairmen.
Louis J. Coletti, president & CEO of the Building Trades Employers' Association (BTEA) announced that Jay Badame of Tishman Construction Corp. an AECOM Company, and the Building Contractors Association, and David Pinter of Zwicker Electric and National Electrical Contractors Association, New York City Chapter have been elected for a second term as Co-Chairmen of the Association by the BTEA Board of Governors.
Badame and Pinter are joined by a solid roster of officers including vice chairmen Steven Alessio of Sweet Construction Corp., Anthony Bell of Martin Associates, Inc., Peter Cafiero of Island Painting, Inc., Pat A. DiFilippo of Turner Construction Co., Michael Gabbay of Plaza Construction Corp., Arthur Rubinstein of Skyline Steel Corp. and Michael Russo of Fresh Meadow Mechanical Corp., along with Treasurer Don DeNardo of Lend Lease LMB, Inc., General Counsel Robert S. Peckar, Esq. and Steve Charney of Peckar & Abramson and Past Chairman Kenneth A. Durr of Durr Mechanical Construction, Inc.
As president and COO of Tishman Construction Corporation, Badame is responsible for projects, operations, administration, personnel, and business development in those regions.
He also serves on the company's Management Committee, and has played a key role in expanding Tishman's portfolio in many sectors and regions, including the opening of Tishman Construction's regional office in Philadelphia.
Badame has more than 30 years of construction industry experience and joined Tishman Construction in 1985.
David Pinter drives Zwicker Electric and is responsible for its leadership position in New York's electrical contracting industry.
He joined Zwicker in 1972 and has worked in every aspect of the electrical contracting business, including accounting, engineering, estimating, purchasing, operations and project management. His technical expertise and business acumen led to his promotion to Chief Financial Officer, followed by his appointment to Executive Vice President and then President and CEO in 1984.
He was elected in January 2012 as the national vice president of the National Electrical Contractors Association. He will be representing the Northeastern United States on the executive board of national NECA.
The Building Trades Employers' Association (BTEA) consists of 27 trade union contractor associations, representing the 1,700 construction managers, general contractors and specialty subcontractor firms in New York City, who employ 125,000 tradespeople.
