BRYANT ELECTED ASSISTANT TREASURER OF THE WASHINGTON POST COMPANY

 WASHINGTON, Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The Washington Post Company (NYSE: WPO) today announced that Candice C. Bryant has been elected assistant treasurer. She had been cash manager of The Washington Post Company since earlier this year.
 Bryant joined The Post Company in 1985 as assin?t controller of The Washington Post newspaper. She served as The Post's marketing manager from 1987 to 1989 and as assistant controller from 1989 to 1993.
 Bryant was deputy associate director of administration of the Executive Office of the President, Office of Management and Budget (OMB) from 1982 to 1985. She joined the OMB in 1972 as a budget process analyst, after serving as a teacher in the Washington, D.C., public schools.
 Bryant received an A.B. degree from Wheaton College and an M.A.T. from Cornell University. She is a native Washingtonian and lives in Washington.
