BRUNSWICK CORP. ELECTS PRESIDENT

 LAKE FOREST, Ill., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Brunswick Corp. (NYSE: BC) announced today that its board of directors has elected John P. Reilly president and chief operating officer of the company effective Oct. 15, 1993. He will report to Jack F. Reichert, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of the company.
 Mr. Reilly, 50, joins Brunswick from Tenneco, Inc., where he has held various management positions since 1984. Most recently he has served as President of Tenneco Automotive. Tenneco Automotive, based in Lincolnshire, Ill., is a global manufacturer of automotive parts with nearly $2 billion in 1992 sales. Prior to Tenneco, he was with International Harvester and Chrysler Corp. His distinguished career has included many awards within the automotive industry. Among other things, he serves as Chairman of the Auto Parts Advisory Committee to the U.S. Department of Commerce on trade with Japan.
 Mr. Reilly is a graduate of Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio and holds an MBA from the University of Detroit. He lives in Lake Forest, Ill., with his wife, Lynda. They have three children.
