 LOUISVILLE, Ky., Oct. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Mr. Owsley Brown II, president and chief executive officer of Brown-Forman Corporation (NYSE: BF.A BF.B), today announced the appointment of Malcolm Jozoff to the newly-created position of chairman and chief executive officer of Lenox, Inc. "Mal Jozoff brings a wealth of marketing experience to Lenox and this strength, combined with his demonstrated abilities as a leader and strategist, ideally suit him to guide our consumer durables businesses to profitable growth in the future," said Mr. Brown.
 Mr. Jozoff, age 54, is a 25-year veteran of the Procter & Gamble Company. He was a corporate group vice president and president of the health care sector, responsible for all over-the-counter and prescription drugs. Over the course of his career at Procter & Gamble he was, at various times, responsible for the U.S. soap and detergent business and the personal care business, including cosmetics, perfumes, shampoos, and deodorants. In the mid-1980's he was responsible for all of P & G's business in Southern Europe (Italy, Spain, Austria, and Switzerland). In addition, he has significant experience in acquisitions, having led P & G's successful purchase and integration of Richardson-Vicks and Noxell. Since leaving Procter & Gamble in 1992 he has been an independent consultant for a variety of companies on marketing and strategic planning issues.
 Mr. Jozoff is a native of Allentown, Pennsylvania, a graduate of Columbia University, and was a captain in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1967. He is active in community affairs, health associations, and is on the board of directors of the Drake Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
 Brown-Forman re-established the position of chairman and chief executive officer of Lenox, Inc. to handle the increasing size and complexity of the Lenox family of companies and to take advantage of the growth opportunities that they represent.
 Reporting to Mr. Jozoff in his new position as chairman and chief executive officer of Lenox, Inc. are Richard E. Stearns, president of Lenox, Inc.; Peter C. Lathrop, president of Hartmann Luggage and Leather Goods Group; and William C. Wellborn, senior vice president and chief financial officer. Mr. Jozoff reports to Owsley Brown II, chief executive officer of Brown-Forman Corporation.
