BROTHER INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION NAMES PATRICK T. GILMORE AS PRESIDENT
 SOMERSET, N.J., Sept. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Hiromi Gunji, chairman, president and CEO of Brother International Corporation, has named Patrick T. Gilmore to succeed him as president, commencing Oct. 1.
 When making the announcement today, Mr. Gunji stated, "We are pleased to promote Mr. Gilmore to president, in recognition of the many contributions he has and continues to make to our organization. We are certain that Pat will admirably perform the new responsibilities inherent in this position, while making it easier for me to continue in my role as chairman and CEO."
 Mr. Gilmore joined Brother in 1969 and has held several positions within the organization including senior vice president, chief financial officer, treasurer and secretary, and most recently (since 1986) executive vice president.
 Prior to joining Brother, Gilmore was vice president of finance for Ferro Union Corporation, and had been a senior staff accountant with Arthur Young & Co. He graduated from St. John's University, N.Y., with a B.B.A. degree, and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, after being recalled to active duty to serve in Korea.
 Mr. Gilmore is a director of Washington based International Electronics Manufacturers and Consumers of America (IEMCA), director of the United Way of Central New Jersey, and chairman of its professional division. He is a former director and currently active in Chambers of Commerce and fraternal organizations.
 Mr. Gilmore and his wife Jean reside in Basking Ridge, N.J.

In addition to its corporate headquarters in Somerset, Brother has operations in California, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Tennessee and Texas.
