A man died while praying at a Church grotto for his dead brother.

Stan Fox, 56, was waiting for brother Victor's body to arrive on the island where he was to be buried.

He was found dead by local priest Father Jack Collins, who then had to break the shock news to mourners at the graveside.

One screamed when she heard the news of the second brother's death.

And yesterday, Stan's family and friends turned out for the second funeral in less than a week.

Father Collins who conducted the funeral Mass for Stan, said: "The emotion must have been too much for his heart to take."

A funeral Mass for Victor, Stan's older brother, had been held in Glasgow on Tuesday. Stan had heard Father Collins say special prayers for Victor at the same time in the island church.

Later, Father Collins made the tragic discovery.

The 77-year-old priest said: "It was as if the good Lord had said to Stan not to worry about Victor - come and join him.

"There was sadness but also joy because of the wonderful circumstances in which Stanley died - at the Grotto and praying."
