BROOKTROUT TECHNOLOGY NAMES NEW ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT

 NEEDHAM, Mass., Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Brooktrout Technology, Inc., (NASDAQ: BRKT) named two new senior engineering managers and appointed founder Patrick Hynes to the new position of vice president of Advanced Product Engineering.
 Jonathan J. Sirota, formerly vice president of ERGO Computing, Inc. in Peabody, Mass., was named vice president of Engineering. Chuck Hudson, formerly with Northern Telecom's Private Networks division in Richardson, Texas, was named director of Systems Engineering.
 "Jon and Chuck bring a wealth of experience in engineering management to Brooktrout," said Eric Giler, Brooktrout's president. "Their experience, combined with Pat's exclusive focus on advanced product development, will ensure that we maintain the leadership position of our existing products while we keep the new product pipeline full."
 Sirota has over 25 years experience working within start-up and rapidly growing small and medium sized companies, principally in senior engineering and general management positions. He has been with ERGO Computing since 1988, where he was responsible for the design, development and production of the award winning BRICK computer. Prior to joining ERGO, he held senior management positions at Visage, Inc., Interactive Training Systems, Inc. and Unitrode Corporation. He received his MSEE from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his BSEE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
 Hudson has nearly 15 years experience in product management and engineering management in the voice messaging systems industry. At Northern Telecom, he was senior product manager of the VISIT integrated multimedia messaging system. Prior to joining Northern Telecom in 1990, he was senior product manager at TIE Communications. Hudson received his BS in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois and attended the Illinois Institute of Technology.
 Brooktrout supplies fax and voice boards to developers of enhanced fax and voice processing systems. These developers include service bureaus and telephone companies offering fax broadcast, fax-on-demand and integrated fax and voice response services; voice messaging companies integrating fax with their voice-mail systems; and developers of fax servers for local area networks and host-based computer systems.
 Brooktrout is a worldwide market and technical leader in facsimile and voice messaging. The company was the first to introduce multi-channel fax boards and to combine voice and facsimile processing on a single board. It holds a U.S. patent on fax-on-demand document retrieval.
