BROCK CONTROL WINS CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE IN 1992 PHOENIX AWARDS
ATLANTA, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Brock Control Systems, Inc. recently won a Certificate of Excellence in the 1992 Phoenix Awards for its submission in the Direct Mail/Business category.
Awards were presented to winners during the 1992 Annual Phoenix Awards Banquet on Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Ritz-Carlton, Downtown.
The Phoenix Awards are presented by the Georgia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America to recognize excellence among public relations practitioners in Georgia. According to Phoenix officials, 334 entries were submitted, making 1992 a chapter record year in terms of participation.
Brock received a Certificate of Excellence for its direct mail media campaign declaring environmental independence (i.e., a technically independent environment compatible with virtually all Unix-based computers, operating systems, networks and communications, user interfaces and automated telephony equipment). Perhaps the boldest move in Brock's eight-year history, the company's ultimate goal was to demonstrate its commitment to open systems and serving the diverse needs of its 700-plus customer base. Written with a technical slant, the verbiage was analogous to that used in the original Declaration of Independence. Freedom of choice for the customer (people) was the underlying theme.
In keeping with the spirit of the Declaration of Independence Fourth of July celebration, Brock issued a press announcement in the form of a tube containing a two-page release and an official statement of independence. Printed on slate gray paper in old English script, contents were rolled up and mailed to 300 target media during the month of July. The release explained the impact of Brock's environmental independence and the statement included signatures from all Brock employees. This one-time public relations campaign succeeded in meeting Brock's objective and enjoyed measurable media attention.
"Public relations is one of Brock's strongest marketing programs and contributes at least 18 percent of the total number of inquiries we receive," said Vice President of Marketing Mary Niman. "Our public relations efforts continue to contribute to our company's success by consistently producing a high number of leads that turn into closed business."
Brock's Activity Manager Series(TM) is a system solution to automate and support the areas of database marketing, telemarketing, field sales automation, order processing and customer service. The product is a mission-critical business application offering the competitive edge to companies understanding the strategic value of an automated, integrated business environment.
Recently recognized as a Company to Watch in the Software Magazine Top 100 June Special Issue, Brock supports the largest installed base of multi-user systems worldwide with more than 700 customers and 12,000 individual users in virtually every industry. The company provides an integrated family of software products offering "closed-loop" information management for sales, marketing and customer service in more than 15 countries using seven different languages. Headquartered in Atlanta, Brock has offices in Los Angeles and affiliate offices in Australia, Belgium, Canada, England, France, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Scotland and Sweden.
