BROADWAY OFFERS HELP TO EARTHQUAKE VICTIMS

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The following was released today by Carter Hawley Hale:
Along with a good part of Southern California, the Broadway stores were affected by today's earthquake. We have been inspecting our stores to make sure that they are safe for our customers and our associates. Most of the 41 Southern California Broadway stores are open and ready to serve our customers. There are a few stores currently closed and under inspection. Those stores are: Northridge, Topanga, Sherman Oaks, Panorama City, Fox Hills, Baldwin Hills, Beverly Center, Century City, Santa Monica, Glendale, and Plaza.
The Broadway has been part of the Southern California community for many years, and is again here to help. All of the Broadway stores are prepared to offer personal assistance to any customer who has been affected by the earthquake. He or she only needs to ask for the store manager, who will assist each customer on an individual basis.
We have established a special program to meet the needs of our customers that includes:
 -- offering higher credit limits
 -- opening instant credit accounts
-- providing deferred billing for up to six months
-- offering a 1O% discount on replacement items purchased by customers affected by the earthquake.
We will also adapt our gift registry system so that victims can register their needs, enabling family and friends to quickly get the information necessary to help their loved ones.
