 BRITISH AEROSPACE NAMES EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
 WASHINGTON, April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Russell L. Ray has been


appointed executive vice president, airline programs for British Aerospace, Inc., based at the company's headquarters in Herndon, Va.
 Announcing the appointment, Robert L. Kirk, chairman of British Aerospace, Inc., said "Russ Ray brings 30 years experience in the marketing of commercial airliners and the management of airlines to our team."
 The airliner products offered by British Aerospace in the Western Hemisphere currently cover seating capacities ranging from 19-seater turboprops to 100-seater jetliners. Seventy of the 64-seat ATPs have been ordered by 10 customers worldwide, and the third 29-seat Jetstream 41 has now joined the flight test program with certification and first customer delivery scheduled for the fourth quarter of 1992. Recently, American Eagle accepted the delivery of its 60th Jetstream Super 31, and Business Express, a major regional airline based in Connecticut, started operations with the BAe 146-200 prior to taking delivery of the first of 20 RJ70 regional jets in mid-1993.
 Ray was appointed president and CEO of Pan Am in 1991 having previously served for three years as vice president and general manager of commercial marketing at McDonnell Douglas in Long Beach, Calif. From 1985 to 1988 he was president and COO of Pacific Southwest Airlines in San Diego, and from 1971 to 1985 he served in a number of capacities at Eastern Air Lines, becoming senior vice president-marketing. He joined Lockheed Aircraft Corporation in 1960, becoming director, commercial marketing-Americas in 1968.
 He is married to the former Audrey Zola, and they have three children.
