BRITE VOICE SYSTEMS UNVEILS PINPOINT, COMPANY'S LATEST INNOVATION IN DATABASE MARKETING SOLUTIONS

WICHITA, Kan., March 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Brite Voice Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: BVSI), a leading provider of voice processing and marketing solutions for the media industry, has announced its newest technology based product for the newspaper industry...PinPoint(SM).
Advertisers utilize database marketing as a cost-efficient tool for targeting their advertising efforts. With PinPoint, newspapers can provide their advertisers with this valuable marketing tool. PinPoint has the ability to gather and organize demographic and consumer response data about callers to the newspaper's CITYLINE(R) or other audiotex system. With data collected on thousands of callers, PinPoint is able to create extensive profiles on consumer demographics, contest and promotion participation, telephone activity to advertisers and responses to audio ad print advertisements.
R.D. (Bud) Calvert, general manager, Brite Media Division, explained the advantages of PinPoint for a newspaper's advertising efforts, "With PinPoint, newspapers can go beyond merely accounting for numbers of callers. Now, they can show their advertisers exactly who is listening to certain types of information categories; even track the demographics of callers who heard a specific advertisement. The marketing opportunities are unlimited and the advertising aim is pinpoint accurate."
PinPoint Identifies Callers and Their Interests
PinPoint assigns each caller an individual personal identification number (PIN). To register a PIN, callers must answer a number of questions regarding general demographic information about themselves and their household. Then, each time the person calls, PinPoint tracks the categories they listened to and the frequency of their usage.
According to Dr. Tom Goulding, Brite's Marketing, Engineering and Information Services executive, "When PinPoint is combined with audiotex, fax, Value ADed(SM) Classifieds, 900 Voice Personals and other technology products for newspapers, we believe we are providing the tools today's progressive newspaper is looking for to strengthen its position as the dominant provider of advertising services to the community."
PinPoint maintains caller demographics and then cross references call records with the stored demographics to create a wide variety of profiles and mailing lists. An advertiser can request mailing lists of callers meeting specific demographic profiles. For example, a brokerage can target its direct mail effort to callers who frequently call the stock report category. Likewise, other advertisers can use the database to target their advertising efforts to customers based on any number of demographic profiles, including age, sex and income level.
 PinPoint Advantages for Callers
Callers also benefit from PinPoint, because using a PIN allows them to participate in special contests and promotions. They accumulate points by using the system, much in the same way frequent fliers earn points. These points are automatically logged by the system. The newspaper specifies how many points a caller receives for listening to each category and advertisement, and can design the promotional opportunities in which callers redeem their points.
PinPoint also allows callers to create their own personalized information and stock portfolios. The selected categories and stockquotes in the personal portfolio are played for the person each time they call, without the need to enter each four digit category number.
Brite Voice Systems, based in Wichita, with offices in England, Germany, Italy and Switzerland, is known for its audiotex/IVR/fax media solutions including CITYLINE, which is used in more than 80 newspapers throughout the country.
