BRITAIN'S biggest makers of houmous could be worth up to PS1.5billion under a stock market flotation.
Bakkavor, a leading supplier of ready meals and desserts to supermarkets, yesterday announced plans for a share sale next month.
The company, founded by brothers Agust and Lydur Gudmundsson, have 19,000 employees, 26 factories in the UK, three in the US and eight in China.
Customers include Tesco, Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury's and Waitrose.
They generated sales of more than PS1.7billionn last year and a PS146million profit. The flotation would raise PS100million to help Bakkover reduce debt, netting a windfall for the Gudmundssons and a US hedge fund.
