 BRISTOL-MYERS SQUIBB APPOINTS WESLEY M. THOMPSON PRESIDENT
 OF BRISTOL-MEYERS INTERNATIONAL
 NEW YORK, Jan. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Bristol-Myers Squibb Company (NYSE: BMY) today announced that Wesley M. Thompson has been appointed president, Bristol-Myers Squibb Consumer Products International, effective February 15.
 Thompson, formerly president, Japan - Bristol-Myers Squibb Consumer Products, will have responsibility for the company's consumer products businesses in Asia/Australasia, Japan, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He will be based in New York.
 Thompson joined Bristol-Myers Squibb in 1987 as president, Bristol- Myers Lion, the company's joint venture in Japan. He was promoted to his most recent position as president, Japan - Bristol-Myers Squibb Consumer Products, in 1989. Prior to joining the company, he held several senior marketing and management positions with consumer products companies including Coca-Cola, Richardson- Vicks and Tropicana.
 Thompson holds a B. A. in Business Administration from Duke University and received his M. B. A. from the University of North Carolina.
 The Bristol-Myers Squibb Consumer Products Group includes the Bristol-Myers Products, Clairol, Drackett and Bristol-Myers Squibb Consumer Products International divisions.
 Bristol-Myers Squibb is a diversified health-care company whose principle businesses are pharmaceuticals, consumer products, nutritionals and medical devices.
