BRISTOL-MEYERS INVESTMENT.

Bristol-Myers Squibb inaugurated its newly refurbished and remodeled US$30 million chemical plant to manufacture Plavix, a drug used in the treatment of cardiovascular disease, reports Caribbean Business (Oct. 29, 2002). "Building 41's 40 employees work in a facility with state of the art equipment and technology and have the capacity to formulate and package one billion tablets annually," said BMS Humacao V.P. & General Manager Hector Totti. "We have about 600 employees working at the BMS complex in Humacao manufacturing other key company products such as Avapro, Monopril, Pravachol, Corgard, Zerit, Azactam, Serzone, and its best-selling diabetes treatment drug, Glucophage."
