Postal workers' food drive weighs in strongly

A food drive by Lane County's postal workers collected more than 120,000 pounds of food on Saturday. And that's not counting food donated in rural communities, which had not yet been weighed, FOOD for Lane County spokeswoman Deb McGeorge said.

"Historically, when numbers are this strong, the outlying areas do well also. We feel very confident that we'll make the 150,000-pound goal," McGeorge said.

Donations may be dropped off at area post offices through Wednesday.
