Generals need fifth game to reach Silver Cup

HELENA, Mont. - The Eugene Generals will be playing for a trip to Philadelphia and a berth in the Silver Cup championships of Junior B hockey when they meet Queen City in Game 5 of their Cascade Cup series tonight at 7:30 on the Cutthroats' home ice.

Robby Knott scored a hat trick Sunday night and Queen City evened the series at 2-2 with a 5-0 victory over the Generals.

Cutthroats goalie Josh Ex stopped all 37 of Eugene's shots.

The Silver Cup championship series begins March 31.

Trojans take third game to win series from OSU

LOS ANGELES - Dan Perales' two-run home run lifted USC to a 4-1 victory over No. 15 Oregon State in Pac-10 baseball on Sunday for the Trojans' second win in the three-game series.

David Duda and Hector Estrella each drove in a run for USC (14-11, 2-1). Mitch Canham accounted for the only Oregon State (12-7, 1-2) run with a home run, his second in two days, in the fourth inning.

McLearn pitches NCC

to win over Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Megan McLearn struck out nine in a one-hitter for Northwest Christian College in a 12-0 softball victory over Walla Walla College on Sunday.

Jonni Byrne, Lanea Hyland, Lisa Martinez and Kasey Sconce had two hits each for the Beacons (12-6), who won the second game of the doubleheader by forfeit when an injury left Walla Walla with only eight players.
