UO's Bramow, Bayne
kicked off football team
South Eugene High School product Matt Bramow has been dismissed from the University of Oregon football team, head coach Mike Bellotti announced Thursday.
Bramow was an H-back who redshirted his only season with the Ducks.
Defensive end Devlin Bayne was also dismissed.
Bramow did not accompany the team to San Diego for the Holiday Bowl in December for disciplinary reasons. Bayne, who did not play in his two seasons at Oregon, was not allowed to report to camp last fall until after the season opener while fulfilling the terms of a team suspension.
South's Magee earns gymnastics scholarship
South Eugene's Casey Magee, the reigning Level 10 national champion in the balance beam, will compete at the University of Arkansas next fall with a full athletic scholarship in women's gymnastics.
Magee, who trains with the National Academy of Artistic Gymnastics in Springfield, holds eight state titles. She will participate in the Junior Olympics state meet Saturday and Sunday at Tualatin Hills Recreation Center in Beaverton.
South Eugene's Kira Oldham-Curtis will also be participating in her final state meet before heading to Ursinus College in Pennsylvania on an academic scholarship. Oldham-Curtis, who also trains at NAAG, will compete for the Ursinus women's gymnastics team.
