Blues festival takes the stage in Central Point

The Southern Oregon Blues Society will host its fifth annual Blues Festival on Saturday in Central Point.

The event, set for the Lithia Motors Amphitheatre at the Jackson County Fairgrounds, 1 Peninger Road, will run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Admission is $10 plus one can of nonperishable food. Proceeds will benefit the hungry in Southern Oregon, via the Foodshare program.

Lloyd Jones, the Portland blues guitarist, will headline the festivities.

Alice Cooper's concert

in Eugene canceled

Alice Cooper, the 1970s shock rocker and syndicated radio personality, has canceled his Oct. 28 concert at the McDonald Theatre.

Refunds are now available at the place of purchase. McDonald Theatre Online Ticketing customers can receive a full refund - including service charge - beginning Monday.
