Eugene woman missing from roadside turnout

Lane County search and rescue crews were looking Saturday for a Eugene woman who walked away from a roadside restroom on Highway 101 near the Lane-Lincoln County line, a Lane County sheriff's dispatcher said.

Volunteers from the Eugene Mountain Rescue unit were called in to assist deputies in the search for the woman, who was last seen at the Strawberry Hill turnout, about 1 1/2 miles south of the Lincoln County line Saturday afternoon, the sheriff's office said.

Searchers were unable to locate the woman and planned to resume the search today.

The woman, whose name was not released, is described as 54 years old, 5 feet 7, 135 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes.
