Family caregiver training set for Friday in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD - The next family caregiver support training is scheduled from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday at Cascade Adult Care, 1621 Centennial Blvd..

Nancy Koll, community relations director for New Horizons In-Home Care, will discuss tips for daily living activities for people with memory loss.

Businesswomen sponsor afternoon tea as benefit

The Eugene Vineyard Valley chapter of the American Business Women's Association is sponsoring an afternoon tea, "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. April 17 as a fund-raiser.

The event will be at the Coburg Inn and will include tea, finger foods, a hand-decorated hat, a fashion show and 15 exhibitors.

Tickets are $40 per person and must be purchased in advance at Reed & Cross or Gray's Garden Center in Eugene or Springfield, or by calling 607-8717.

The American Business Women's Association is a national nonprofit organization supporting the education and professional growth of local businesswomen.

AARP offers refresher classes for older drivers

The AARP is offering refresher courses designed for drivers age 50 and older. Some auto insurance companies provide a discount to graduates of the course.

The eight-hour courses are taught in two, four-hour sessions spanning two days.

The cost is $10. There are no tests. The courses are open to AARP members and nonmembers.
