Stewart memorial gifts may go straight to fund

Contributions memorializing Loran LaSells "Stub" Stewart, the Oregon timber giant and philanthropist who died Jan. 2, may be made directly to the Sister Monica Heeran Endowment Fund for Volunteers in Medicine, 3321 W. 11th Ave., Eugene, 97402.

Obituaries had directed the donations to the Sacred Heart Medical Center Foundation. However, Jo Ann Cook, development coordinator for the Heeran Foundation, said Tuesday it would be easier for the foundation if the contributions were mailed directly to its office.
