Coast Guard rescues man after boat capsizing

COOS BAY - A 73-year-old man was rescued near Coos Bay on Sunday afternoon, according to a U.S. Coast Guard news release.

A Coast Guard watchstander at the Coos Bay lookout tower saw a vessel overturned and a man in the water about 2:15 p.m.

Station Coos Bay launched a motor lifeboat crew to the scene. The man was rescued and transferred to an ambulance at Station Coos Bay.
