BRIEFLY PET ADOPTION FAIR HAS CLASSES, MORE.

LANCASTER - Residents interested in adding a new pet to their household will benefit from a number of informational booths and classes available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Lancaster Animal Shelter as part of the Los Angeles County Pet Adoption Fair.

Among the representatives will be PetSmart offering free pet food samples and coupons, as well as the California Fish and Game Department, Los Angeles County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol, along with activities for the entire family.

Animal obedience training and an Ask the Vet booth will be available from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday. The event is sponsored by the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control and the North Shore Animal League. The animal shelter is located at 5210 W. Ave. I.

5th travel entry is about Spain

PALMDALE - The Palmdale Playhouse will present its fifth installment in its Travelogue Series with ``Spain, Land of Contrasts'' at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The film features live narration by filmaker Clint Denn.

Denn's film shows him as he dines in a palace, visits a castle and ventures into Spanish Africa.

Denn has enjoyed a varied career in photography, travel, writing, acting and teaching.

Tickets are $5 per person.
