BREED TECHNOLOGIES TEAMS WITH HITACHI FOR ELECTRONIC AIRBAG SENSOR SYSTEMS

 LAKELAND, Fla., Nov. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- BREED Technologies has announced that it has entered into an agreement with Hitachi America Ltd., a subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd., for the joint design and production of an electronic Sensing Diagnostic Module (SDM) for automotive airbag systems. The SDM combines crash sensing and airbag diagnostic circuitry into a sensing diagnostic module.
 The agreement between BREED and Hitachi formalizes a collaboration that began in 1992. The first Breed SDM products are scheduled to be sold in production quantities in 1995.
