BREED TECHNOLOGIES AWARDED FORD OF AUSTRALIA AIRBAG CONTRACT

 LAKELAND, Fla., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Breed Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: BDT) has announced its selection by Ford of Australia (FOA) to develop an electrically-initiated passenger-side inflator and module system for the Falcon, Fairlane and LTD type large family sedans and wagon vehicles.
 Breed is currently slated to provide the sensors and driver-side airbag inflator and module system for this car platform, with introduction targeted for the 1995 Model Year.
 Allen Breed, the company's chairman, stated: "We are delighted to be providing another complete airbag system for the Ford family. These driver and passenger systems employ the same electrically-initiated inflator technology we are offering to vehicle manufacturers for U.S. application."
