BREAKWATER RESOURCES LTD. ANNOUNCES NEW ORE BODY
BREAKWATER RESOURCES LTD. ANNOUNCES NEW ORE BODY TUCSON, Ariz., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Breakwater Resources Ltd.
(NASDAQ: BWRLF, Toronto, Vancouver: BWR.) announced today, that as a result of an ongoing exploration and development program at its El Mochito Mine in Honduras it has defined a new ore body known as the Nacional Zone.
The Nacional, which lies within 1,000 meters of the San Juan ore body currently being mined, is estimated to contain 2,094,250 tons of ore grading 11.74 percent zinc, 84 g/t silver, 0.79 percent lead and 0.15 percent copper. This reserve, currently classified in the probable category has been established from 17 diamond drill holes which intersected a manto formation having a plan area of approximately 700 feet by 400 feet. While the average thickness of the manto is 40 feet, several intercepts of more than 80 feet grading in excess of 10 percent zinc have been recorded. Of particular note is hole DDH 4234 which returned grades of 15.11 percent zinc over a length of 215 feet. In addition to the manto, the reserve includes a portion of chimney or pipe of higher grade ore extending upward from the manto. Drilling is continuing to further define the pipe and an accelerated development program will be initiated to access the rich manto area. The discovery and definition of mine reserve confirms that the El Mochito mine will continue to produce high-grade zinc concentrate at least until its quinquennial anniversary in 1998. -0- 9/1/92 /CONTACT: H.R.
