BRAZIL STAR HEADS TO ANFIELD; ... to watch Reds in title thriller that is.
BRAZILIAN footballer Cafu landed in Merseyside ahead of Liverpool FC's Premiership title clash today.
The 43-year-old former right-back arrived at Liverpool Lime Street Station and was mobbed by fans.
Cafu was on the second-place AC Milan team when the Reds won the Champions League in 2005.
The star will be at Anfield this afternoon to watch the crunch game against Newcastle.
He wrote on Twitter: "I am visiting the city of the Scouser on Sunday to see the team against Newcastle - I look forward to the Anfield roar!" Footie lovers at Lime Street were delighted to see him as he arrived.
Liverpool fan Kevin Cowley said: "It was great to meet Cafu, he was an absolute gent and really friendly."
Another added: "It was an unbelievable experience and a dream come true to meet such a great player, although I think Jon Flanagan might go on to be even better."
Flanagan has been dubbed the "Scouse Cafu", prompting the Brazilian to write on Twitter: "Good to see the Red Cafu is playing well! Liverpool amazing to watch!" Cafu also tweeted "Football will always remember the 96" on the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster last month.
The Reds will win the league today if they beat Newcastle and Manchester City lose to West Ham. ? Reds ticket warning - page 7
