BRAZIL LEAVE US IN SHADE.

ROY HODGSON admits England will go to next summer's World Cup finals in Brazil as outsiders.

The England boss said: "Can we win the World Cup? It's pretty obvious we're not favourites. We will do the best we can. I'm pleased we're going to be a part of it. I'll worry about whether we can win it later on."

Brazil are highly fancied on home soil. "We know that European teams don't win in South America, but we are getting better," said Hodgson.

"However, I don't think any of us would say we are getting to the level of some of the other teams who are clearly bigger favourites than us to win the tournament."
