WOODBURY, N.Y., Oct. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Bravo and Cox Cable team up to give national exposure and support to the arts in Metropolitan New Orleans.
Bravo can be seen on Cox Cable Channel 37.
Cox Cable recently made Bravo available to their expanded basic customers serving New Orleans, Jefferson Parish and St. Charles Parish.
On Oct. 22-23, Bravo goes on-location with "ArtsBreak," its original cultural news magazine, in the Metropolitan New Orleans area, covering the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, New Orleans Arts Council, New Orleans Opera, A.C.T. One (Alliance for Community Theater), and the Jefferson Parish Performing Arts Center.
To celebrate the taping of "ArtsBreak," Bravo and Cox Cable will sponsor a special reception at the Fairmont Hotel on Saturday, Oct. 23. The reception for the New Orleans arts community will be held immediately following the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra's Halloween Pops Concert at the Orpheum Theatre in New Orleans. Bravo and Cox Cable will make major presentations both on-stage prior to the performance at 8 p.m. and following at the Fairmont Hotel. Bravo cameras will tape the performance and the reception.
Bravo's new "ArtsBreak" host, 1984 Miss America Suzette Charles, has an extensive background in music, television, theater, film and commentary. Her first album is debuting in early 1994 with BMG/RCA Records. A Presidential Scholar in the Arts, Ebony Magazine voted her one of the Ten Most Beautiful Black Women in America in 1987.
In the past, Bravo and Cox Cable have teamed up to lend support to the arts in New Orleans. Last December, Bravo and Cox Cable co-sponsored a special presentation of "The Nutcracker" performed by Ballet Hysell at The Saenger Performing Arts Center. Bravo and Cox Cable donated $1,000 to Ballet Hysell and seats to local schools and community groups.
Bravo offers critically acclaimed American independent and international films as well as performing arts including dance, theater, and classical and jazz music.
Bravo is available to more than 12 million homes nationwide.
