BRAUN INTRODUCES WORLD'S FIRST PIVOTING TWIN-FOIL ELECTRIC SHAVER

 BRAUN INTRODUCES WORLD'S FIRST PIVOTING TWIN-FOIL ELECTRIC SHAVER
 LYNNFIELD, Mass., Jan. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- A major innovation in electric shaving will transform the way American men shave when Braun unveils the world's first pivoting head rechargeable shaver, the Braun Flex Control. Available nationwide this Father's Day, Flex Control's new advanced technology lies in its patented shaving system -- the first and only combination of a pivoting head and a twin foil ever introduced.
 Braun first introduced the Flex Shaver in Europe in February 1990. Since then, the Flex Shaver has received overwhelming response from consumers and, to date, more than 2.5 million shavers have been sold.
 The Flex control shaver, available in three models (the 4510, 4525 and 4550), features a unique pivoting head which automatically adjusts to the contours of a man's face. The head pivots 34 degrees allowing the shaver to maintain the optimal shaving angle -- which results in a closer more comfortable shave.
 "Braun believes the Flex Control shavers represent the most advanced electric shaving system available to consumers in the past 20 years," said Christina Steele, marketing manager, Braun Inc. "We believe the technology behind the pivoting twin-foil system will set new standards in shaving and optimize shaving performance for men in the United States."
 Each Flex Control model features a versatile, easy-to-operate three-stage switch that controls each movement with the flick of the thumb. Stage 1 turns on the shaver with pivoting head action -- perfect for the cheeks, chin and lower lip. Stage 2 fixes the pivoting head at an angle designed to shave areas such as the upper lip and near the sideburns. Stage 3 extends the long hair trimmer, especially developed for trimming sideburns or shaping moustache contours with full visual control.
 Designed by Braun's renowned team of designers, led by Dieter Rams, the Flex Control shavers combine the quality and performance that have made Braun the best-selling line of foil shavers in the world. In addition to the pivoting head and twin foil cartridge, each model features:
 -- cordless shaving for up to 14 days;
 -- three-minute cordless shave after five-minute recharging;
 -- one-hour quick charge;
 -- on/off switch lock;
 -- charging indicator;
 -- built-in recharger;
 -- overcharge protection;
 -- automatic worldwide voltage adjustment;
 -- 12-volt car/boat charging capacity (accessory required); and
 -- luxury travel case with mirror and cleaning brush.
 In addition, the 4525 and 4550 models features a low-charge indicator and Braun's patented sure-grip knobs for easy handling. The 4550 deluxe model adds a computerized display that indicates the charging state of the rechargeable battery whether the shaver is on or off. When the charge drops below 20 percent, the word "charge" and a blinking plug will appear.
 All three Braun Flex Control rechargeable shavers will be available to consumers in spring 1992. The 4510 is expected to sell at an average in-store price of $99. The 4525 is expected to sell at an average in-store price of $129 and the 4550 at $169.
