BOY, 6, KIDNAPPED IN 100-MILE TAXI HIJACK; Knife pair's terror trail.
Little Mikey Hill was playing happily outside a pub when he was snatched and brutally bundled into the cab.
His mum Sharon, 32, broke down and wept last night as she relived the nightmare ordeal.
"My other son Keith came running into the pub with a look of sheer terror on his face. He said someone had taken Mikey.
"I just couldn't believe it. I felt totally helpless. I ran up the road after the car but I knew I couldn't catch it. I went back to the pub in a daze. All I knew was that two people with knives had taken my child."
Her husband Trevor gave chase in the family car but police eventually rescued Mikey, who suffered a cut hand, 15 miles away at Marlborough.
The fugitive couple's astonishing 100-mile rampage started on Saturday when they hijacked a cab driven by Mark Slater, 29.
They forced him to drive from Petersfield in Hampshire to Salisbury, Wiltshire, before stabbing him three times in the back and bundling him out of the taxi.
The desperate pair then stopped at Shipton Bellinger near Andover, Hants, and demanded money from 62-year-old teacher Rosemary Tetlow.
When her pet spaniel lunged at them, they stabbed it to death.
Village bobby PC Ted Reynolds was threatened with a knife when he tried to stop the white Renault.
It sped on to the nearby Boot Inn where little Mikey was snatched while his parents watched the Olympics inside.
The taxi driver was "stable" in hospital yesterday. Police were questioning a man, 56 and a woman, 25.
