BOSTON TECHNOLOGY SHIPS SEVEN CO ACCESS SYSTEMS TO BRAZIL

 SAO PAOLO, Brazil, Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Boston Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: BSTN) today announced that it has shipped seven CO ACCESS(TM) systems to Brazil. Five of the systems have been installed in the central offices of Telecomunicacoes de Sao Paolo S.A. (TELESP), Brazil's largest telephone company and the cellular provider for Sao Paolo. A sixth system was installed in a TELESP office in the countryside of Sao Paolo state and the seventh system resides in a TELEPAR central office in Parana.
 TELESP is using the CO ACCESS systems to provide call answering and facsimile services to cellular customers in Sao Paolo. TELESP has 60,000 cellular subscribers throughout the metropolitan Sao Paolo area.
 TELEPAR is providing call answering service, also to cellular customers, in Parana, an area in the countryside of Brazil.
 Todd Hasselbeck, assistant vice president of International Sales for Boston Technology, stated, "Through our partnerships with NEC do Brazil and Computel Computadores e Telecomunicacoes S.A., our distributor in Brazil, we were successful in providing our CO ACCESS equipment to the TELESP cellular network. It has been only six months since we announced our first order from Brazil and already we have shipped seven systems. Both TELESP and TELEPAR are moving very quickly to deploy enhanced services to their customers and we have been impressed with their aggressive plans."
 TELESP is based in Sao Paolo and is the largest of the twenty-eight operating companies of Telebras, the Brazilian PTT. TELESP operates 45 percent of the existing telephone lines in Brazil in the country's most populated and industrialized state.
 TELEPAR is the telephone company for Parana state in the south of Brazil.
