BOSTON TECHNOLOGY APPOINTS RICHARD SNELLING TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 WAKEFIELD, Mass., Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Boston Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: BSTN) announced today that Richard K. Snelling has been elected to the company's board of directors. Snelling is chairman of the board of the Georgia Center for Advanced Telecommunications Technology and the senior advisor of technology for the Atlantic Committee for the Olympic Games. He is also a director of Atlanta-based Video Teleconferencing Services, Inc.; Gambatte, a wireless spread spectrum company; and Digital Communications Associates, a hardware and software development company.
 Snelling was executive vice president at Southern Bell and BellSouth from 1983 to 1991. During that time he was also a member of the board of directors for Southern Bell.
 "Dick's extensive experience in telecommunications and other advanced technologies will be a tremendous asset to the board," commented Greg Carr, chairman of the board. "He will add a unique perspective that should help us better serve our present customers and anticipate the needs of prospective customers."
 Snelling holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from the University of Florida and is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). He has been a member of numerous industry councils and foundations, including the President's Council and Engineering Advisory Council at the University of Florida, the Georgia Engineering Foundation, the Georgia Institute of Technology advisory board, the Communications Society of IEEE, and the National Engineering Consortium Advisory Board. Snelling is also a registered professional engineer.
