 BOSTON TECHNOLOGY ANNOUNCES SECOND QUARTER RESULTS;
 COMPANY POSTS PROFIT OF 3 CENTS PER SHARE
 WAKEFIELD, Mass., Aug. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Boston Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: BSTN) today reported net income of $691,000 on revenues of $11,140,000 for the second quarter of fiscal year 1993 ended July 31, 1992, as compared to a net loss of $509,000, on revenues of $9,766,000 for the same three month period during fiscal year 1992. Net income per share for the second quarter of fiscal 1993 of 3 cents compared to a net loss per share of 2 cents for the second quarter of fiscal 1992.
 For the six month period ended July 31, 1992, the company reported revenues of $20,182,000, as compared to revenues of $21,039,000 for the same period one year ago. Net income for the first six months of the current fiscal year was $842,000, or more than six times greater than net income of $136,000 for the first six months of fiscal 1992. Net income per share for the six months ended July 31, 1992 was 4 cents per share vs. 1 cent per share for the corresponding fiscal year 1992.

Gergacz, president and chief executive officer of Boston Technology," and we intend to continue this improvement going forward." Gergacz noted several recent significant events at Boston Technology, including the company's selection by Japan's NTT Mobile in a telecommunications tender and the announcement of new products. Gergacz stated, "On Aug. 11, 1992, Boston Technology announced that NTT Mobile Communications Network, Inc., selected the company's voice messaging systems on which to deploy enhanced services to its customers throughout Japan. This multi-year project provides for systems to be located in most of Japan's major cities. The company has also announced the development of a fault tolerant enhanced voice processing platform and new software applications for its CO ACCESS(tm) series of platforms."
 Based in Wakefield, Mass., Boston Technology develops, manufactures, markets and supports enhanced voice processing platforms for Regional Bell Operating Companies, independent telephone companies, long distance providers, cellular and international telecommunications companies.
