BOSTON GLOBE TO HOST MINORITY JOB FAIR IN DECEMBER; 3-DAY FAIR FEATURES WORKSHOPS, CAREER COUNSELING, INTERVIEWS

 BOSTON, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The Boston Globe will host a Newspaper Minority Job Conference Dec. 2, 3, and 4 at the Colonnade Hotel in Boston. The conference, which includes workshops, interviews with candidates, and career counseling, is being sponsored by the American Society of Newspaper Editors and the Newspaper Association of America.
 Thursday's schedule includes workshops on jobs in the newspaper industry, how to become and survive life as a journalist, and for recruiters -- diversity issues in the workplace. Friday and Saturday events include interviews with recruiters, career counseling and programs with speakers from the newspaper industry.
 The deadline for registration for both students and job seekers is Nov. 22. A special registration fee is available for students living 75 miles or more from Boston which includes accommodations.
 Deadline for recruiters is also Nov. 22, and fees are on a sliding scale based on newspaper circulation.
