BOSTON GLOBE TO HOLD SERIES OF POLITICAL DEBATES ON SEPTEMBER 1-4,
 DEBATES FOCUS ON FOUR CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICTS
 WHAT: The Boston Globe will hold a series of debates for
 Massachusetts candidates running for Congress.
 WHERE: The Boston Globe

 WHEN: Tuesday-Friday, Sept. 1-4
 Democrats 10 a.m. Republicans 1 p.m.
 The Boston Globe will hold a series of debates on Sept. 1, 2, 3, and 4 for Massachusetts candidates running for Congress, the paper announced today.
 The debates will be held at the Globe's Morrissey Boulevard, Boston headquarters and each one will last about 75 minutes.
 The format will include opening statements by the candidates, questions by three Globe staff (two reporters covering the race and an editorial writer); and candidates asking questions of their opponents. Each candidate is permitted a closing statement of one minute.
 The debate will be held for candidates of the 3rd, 5th and 6th and 10th Congressional districts, with Democratic candidates squaring off in the morning from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., and Republican candidates debating in the afternoon, from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
 Globe Political Editor Charles Kenney will moderate the Democratic debates; Globe Editorial Page Editor Loretta McLaughlin will moderate the Republican debates.
 While questioning of candidates is limited to Globe staff during the debate, reporters of representatives from other news organizations are welcome to attend. Those who plan to attend should arrive at the Globe by 9:45 a.m. for morning debates, and by 12:45 p.m. for afternoon debates. Please check in with security at the desk in the front lobby.
 The schedule for the debates:
 TUESDAY, SEPT. 1
 3rd District -- Democrats, 10 a.m./Republicans, 1 p.m.
 WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 2
 5th District -- Democrats, 10 a.m./Republicans, 1 p.m.
 THURSDAY, SEPT. 3
 6th District -- Democrats, 10 a.m./Republicans, 1 p.m.
 FRIDAY, SEPT. 4
 10th District -- Democrats, 10 a.m./Republicans, 1 p.m.
