FA TROPHY winners Burscough last night parted company with their manager Shaun Teale.

The shock news comes less than two months after the former Tranmere Rovers and Aston Villa defender led the Linnets to victory in the FA Trophy final over Tamworthat VillaParkin his first season in charge at Victoria Park.

The decision also comes hot on the heels of the news that long-serving secretary Stan Strickland had resigned.

Strickland quit after what he describes as ``infighting'' at the club following that historic Trophy win.

After aboard meeting the clubhavealsodecided to part company with Teale. An official statement read: ``BurscoughFootball Club regret that they have parted company with their manager Shaun Teale.

``This was a genuinely difficult decision to take, after long and carefulconsideration. But the board felt that it was the right decision in order to secure the stability of theclub.

``In recent weeks the boardhavebecome increasingly concerned regarding statements that have been made about theclub, some in the national press and some in the local press, regarding Shaun's position and the management and future of the club.
