BOSE, DMX FOR BUSINESS FORM STRATEGIC MARKETING ALLIANCE; COMPANIES TO JOINTLY OFFER PRODUCT AND SERVICES TO NATIONAL ACCOUNTS

CHICAGO, May 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Los Angeles-based Digital Music Express(R) (DMX) and Bose Corporation of Framingham, Mass., have joined forces to offer the ultimate in quality audio to businesses nationwide. This strategic alliance between the nation's premiere digital audio music service and the leading audio equipment manufacturer was announced today by Lon Troxel, International Cablecasting Technologies president, commercial division, and Timothy Dorwart, national sales manager for Bose Professional Products.
Under terms of the agreement, the companies will jointly develop and implement a national accounts sales team to actively market DMX for Business and Bose products and services to multiple account locations nationwide, offering businesses the complete audio solution to their commercial music needs. In addition, the companies plan to develop an integrated national customer service network, to handle both programming and equipment concerns.
"The DMX/Bose link is a natural one," said DMX's Troxel. "The world-acclaimed sound system manufacturer brings to DMX for Business not only the best in audio technology, but also unparalleled expertise and a longstanding dedication to customer service."
"Now, when marketing DMX to national business accounts and other commercial establishments, we can offer a total quality sound solution from source to playback, providing businesses with flawless audio performance in a discreet, aesthetic package," Troxel added.
Bose's Dorwart commented, "The premium digital delivery of DMX -- the first important new player in the commercial sound industry in more than two decades -- and the high-performance Bose playback systems together establish new standards of audio excellence in the commercial music business."
Under the new DMX/Bose alliance, DMX for Business commercial customers will be offered the latest in Bose audio technology, including the innovative Bose FreeSpace(R) business music system. Using Bose high-performance components, the virtually unnoticeable FreeSpace system provides high-fidelity stereo sound and even audio coverage throughout the business listening area.
"With consumers increasingly accustomed to highly sophisticated music systems in their daily lives, they are growing less and less tolerant of mediocre sound quality in restaurants and other businesses," explained Troxel. "This new alliance offers national accounts a one- stop sound solution, which can easily be customized to meet their needs, from specially selected DMX music programming to custom-designed Bose sound systems."
Drawn from the industry's most comprehensive CD library, DMX for Business now delivers 30 channels of specially programmed CD-quality music, in formats ranging from Classical and Jazz to Pop/Adult Contemporary and Rock to Country, all uninterrupted and commercial free. Offered exclusively through 300 cable systems nationwide, DMX will be available to an even wider commercial audience this fall via Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS).
Los Angeles-based International Cablecasting Technologies Inc., parent company of DMX, trades on the NASDAQ National Market System as TUNE, and provides digital audio programming, technology and marketing services for residential and commercial markets.
Founded in 1964 by a Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor Amar G. Bose, Bose Corporation today produces the best-selling loudspeaker systems in the United States, Europe, Japan, Canada and Australia.
