BORO GO RETRO; We reveal new shirt inspired by the past.
BORO have gone retro with their new strip for next season's promotion bid.
The white shoulder yoke, which was originally introduced before the First World War, is back.
Boro's new adidas shirts, which are revealed above, will be worn by the players in Saturday's final game against Doncaster Rovers.
Tickets have been selling well, so hopefully the team will be given a good send off and a bond will be made with the new strip as preparations begin for next season's battle to progress up the league table.
Boro first changed their traditional all-red shirts in 1912 when introducing a round white neck collar.
The following year the shoulder yoke was adopted and this became a regular feature of the shirts until 1929.
The white yokes were brought back in 1964 but lasted only two seasons, while a type of yoked shirt was used in 1983-84.
The last time Boro played with something similar was from 1992-94, the first season covering the team's year in the inaugural Premier League.
Now fans have the opportunity to join with the team by wearing the new kit on Saturday.
Season card holders can snap up the kit from tomorrow with general sale from Saturday.
The shirt, which will sport the logo of the club's long-term sponsors Ramsdens, is complemented by red shorts and white socks.
All fans purchasing the shirt will also receive a invitation to take part in Boro's biggest ever team photograph, when they can join the first team squad for a pre-season photo-call in early August. Details will be released later.
The strip and a selected range of the new season's training wear are available to season card holders only from 9am tomorrow. The green goalkeeper kit will also be available.
Both club stores will be open through to 7pm.
Season cards must be produced.
From midnight tonight, orders can also be made 24 hours a day online at www.mfcofficialdirect.co.uk with delivery normally within three working days.
General sale begins from both stores and online at 9am on Saturday. Both stores will be open until 5pm on Saturday and from 10am-4pm on Sunday.
