Byline: The Register-Guard3 poets to read at Springfield library
Poets Quinton Hallett, Judith Montgomery and John Witte present a spring poetry reading from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Springfield Library, 225 Fifth St., Springfield.
Hallett writes and edits from Noti. She is the author of three chapbooks and founder of Fern Rock Falls Press, and her work has appeared in journals and anthologies.
Montgomery's poems appear in Cimarron Review, Bellingham Review, Measure, Cider Press Review and Adanna, among other journals, as well as in several anthologies.
She's received fellowships in poetry from Literary Arts and the Oregon Arts Commission to work on two new manuscripts ("Blue Fields" and "Burning and Ambiguous Gift") and several nominations for Pushcart prizes. Her chapbook, Passion, received the 2000 Oregon Book Award for poetry.
Witte's poems have appeared in publications such as The New Yorker, Paris Review and American Poetry Review, and have been included in The Norton Introduction to Literature, among several anthologies.
The recipient of two writing fellowships from the NEA, a residency at the Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center and other grants and awards, he lives with his family in Eugene and teaches literature at the University of Oregon.
