BOOK IT: MERCURY REV.

Byline: ALUN PALMER

They are not the most prolific of bands. But what they lack in output Mercury Rev certainly make up for musically. The lush soundscapes on their new album Snowflake Midnight sees the band back at the top of their game, reminiscent of their big hit All Is Dream way back 2001. And in an uncharacteristic moment of ebullience, the American popsters are set to return to Britain for a very rare visit.

Tour begins on November 4 at the Belfast Mandela Hall then Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Newcastle, Brighton, Bristol, London and Oxford. Call Mirror Tickets on 0870 145 1136.
