BOMBAY ANNOUNCES NEXT PHASE OF ALEX & IVY TEST FORTH WORTH, Texas, Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The Bombay Company, Inc.
(AMEX: BBA) announced today that its board of directors has approved the next phase of testing the company's Alex & Ivy retail concept. The approval provides for the opening of up to three additional stores, at least one of which will be in a center where a Bombay store already exists. The new stores, which are expected to open by Summer 1992, will be in a new market area outside California.
Robert E. M. Nourse, president and chief executive officer, stated that the recent remerchandising of the Alex & Ivy stores with a stronger country look has shown encouraging results and the expanded test market will provide the opportunity to further refine and evaluate the Alex & Ivy concept.
