BOMA PRESIDENT FEATURED SPEAKER AT IREM CONVENTION

WASHINGTON, Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Thomas B. McChesney, president of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International and executive vice president of Grubb & Ellis, Pittsburgh, will deliver the keynote address at the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) Annual Convention on Monday, Nov. 8, at the Sheraton Bal Harbour in Miami Beach, Fla. The speech marks the first cooperative effort in 10 years between the two national organizations.
"In the clutter of real estate associations, and with the field of professional associations narrowing, only those groups that identify common goals and pull together their resources will prosper," stated McChesney. "There is much strength and vitality emanating from associations like BOMA and IREM, and we have the potential to lead the industry into the next century if we begin preparing now."
McChesney's speech, "Challenges, Changes and Hopes for the Future of Commercial Real Estate," will focus on the demographic, sociological and legislative changes taking place in the industry and how BOMA is meeting those challenges.
Founded in 1907, BOMA International is the oldest and largest trade association exclusively representing the office building industry. The members of its 100 local associations own or manage more than 5 billion square feet of North American office space.
