BOEING HONORS OUTSTANDING SUPPLIERS

 SEATTLE, Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Eight companies -- selected from suppliers in 31 nations -- today received Boeing Commercial Airplane Group's highest honor, the "President's Award for Excellence," the company announced.
 This annual honor goes to those commercial airplane suppliers that have demonstrated exceptional technical competence as well as superior cost and schedule performance.
 The 1993 awards were presented by Boeing Commercial Airplane Group Executive Vice President Ron Woodard to representatives from eight suppliers, five based in the United States and one each in Australia, England and Germany.
 "These suppliers have made continuous quality improvement and customer satisfaction a way of life," Woodard said. "They are the very best in the world at what they do and we are proud to work with them."
 Woodard also said, "Each of the eight suppliers is committed to excellence, and is absolutely reliable in terms of schedule and quality, open and fair in business practices, and forthright in identifying and addressing potential problems."
 Five companies based in the United States received the award at the evening ceremony: Ace Clearwater Enterprises, Torrance, Calif., a supplier of welded ducts and assemblies as well as sheet metal; Aero Plastics, Renton, Wash., a supplier of metallic and non-metallic materials; Parker Bertea Aerospace Group, Hydraulic Div., Control Systems Div. and Air & Fuel Div., Irvine, Calif., flight control and landing gear equipment; Rockwell International Corp., Tulsa, Okla., 747 hardware and 777 slats and composite floor beams and the Tensolite Co. based in St. Augustine, Fla., a supplier of airframe wire and cable.
 Three suppliers based overseas received awards at the ceremony as well: Aerospace Technologies of Australia, Melbourne, Aust., a supplier of flaps and rudders; Buderus Sell GmbH, Herborn, Germany, a supplier of galleys, galley inserts and closets; and L.A. Rumbold Ltd., Lavatory Div., Surrey, England, a supplier of lavatory modules and closets.
