BOEING CONFIRMS 10 ADDITIONAL ORDERS FOR 777 JETLINERS
SEATTLE, Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Boeing Commercial Airplane Group

today confirmed that it was adding the 10 new 777 jetliners ordered by Japan Air Lines to its 1992 order list.
In addition to the 10, valued at about $1 billion, the airline, which had made its intentions public last October, also took 10 options. The carrier has not yet selected the engine type for its advanced Boeing airliners.
This brings total orders for the new jetliner, which will enter passenger service in mid-1995, to 86 units.
Also, Boeing said that 1991 orders for its medium-range 757 twinjet have been increased by six because of unannounced option conversions. Value of these six is about $300 million.
The six 757s were added as a result of a trade arrangement in early 1991 between American Airlines and Britannia Airways of the United Kingdom. American obtained four 767s from Britannia in exchange for six 757s. While the 767s were not additional orders, the 757s were. Britannia now has six 757s on order; American's total for 757s remains at 91.
In addition, one 737-300, inadvertently counted twice during 1991, was removed from the public order list.
As a result, the final tally for Boeing announced orders in 1991 is 257 jetliners valued at about $20.55 billion. This total includes 71 twinjet 737s, 38 of the 747s, 49 model 757s, 72 model 767s and 27 of the new 777s.
Announced orders to date in 1992 total 16 jetliners with a value of about $1.67 billion. These include two 737-300s, four 747-400s and 10 of the 777s.
