BOEING CALLS AGREEMENT 'SIGNIFICANT STEP FORWARD' SEATTLE, April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The agreement on aircraft
subsidies announced today in Brussels is "a significant step forward," according to Boeing Vice President Lawrence W. Clarkson.
Clarkson, Boeing's vice president for planning and international development, said, "Although Boeing has not yet had an opportunity to study the document agreed upon today, based on what we know of the agreement it is a significant step forward. It represents reasonable progress toward leveling the playing field between U.S. and European competitors in the commercial aircraft marketplace. "We worked closely with the United States Trade Representative's negotiators, and we believe they have taken our objectives into account in reaching this agreement." -0- 4/1/92 /CONTACT: T.
