BOBBY HATFIELD NAMED VICE PRESIDENT, PROGRAMMING, AM STATIONS

 CINCINNATI, Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Great American Television and Radio Co., Inc. (GATRC) today announced the promotion of Bobby Hatfield to vice president, programming, AM stations. Hatfield will be responsible for developing overall programming strategies at Great American's AM radio stations: KEX-AM, Portland, Ore.; WDAF-AM, Kansas City, Mo.; and WTVN-AM, Columbus, Ohio. In addition he will continue to serve as operations manager of WTVN-AM, Columbus.
 In making the announcement, David H. Crowl, president of the Radio Group of GATRC said, "Full service AM radio stations face tough competitive challenges in the 1990's. Bobby Hatfield has tremendous insight into the programming strategies needed for these AM operations. He is one of the best full service programmers in the radio industry today and we want to tap his talent for our AM group."
 Hatfield has extensive experience in radio programming and has held several air talent positions. Before joining Great American as program director for WTVN-AM in 1989, he held program director positions with stations owned by Metropolis, First Valley Broadcasting, Malrite Communications, Storz Broadcasting, and on-air positions with Booth American and Heftel, among others.
 In addition to KEX-AM, WDAF-AM, and WTVN-AM, GATRC owns 11 FM radio stations and six network-affiliated television stations in major markets throughout the country.
